Broome North Primary School is proud to offer specialised science education from Years 1 to 6, with dedicated science teachers guiding each class through engaging one-hour lessons. As of 2023, we have introduced ‘Two Way Science‘ for our upper-grade students, which incorporates the use of Yawuru words and knowledge, seamlessly integrated with science facts about the local environment. This innovative approach, endorsed by the Department of Education, and Australian Curriculum is part of a larger initiative and is being rolled out across numerous schools in Western Australia. It ensures that our students receive a well-rounded and enriching education in the field of Science, deeply rooted in the cultural and ecological heritage of our community.
